Reduce Reuse Recycle

United States
I often think about Mother Earth and what I should be doing to make a difference. You see, I grew up with a reduce/reuse/recycle mindset. So what changed? Did I become lazy? Or did I just do what was most convenient and easy for me?  I’m still trying to figure that out myself...

One thing that’s for sure is I’m ready to change and focus on what’s important. When I was in my early 20s I used to be obsessed with trends and fast fashion. I only shopped at the mall and went through my clothes so fast that I didn't even think to check if they were ethically made. While in high school I dreamt of attending FIDM. I wanted to design my own clothes and learn the ins and outs of the fashion industry. I even applied in my senior year. Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford to go so changing majors was the only option. Here we are, a few years later and I’m working on an Ethical Fitness Line because I'm still very passionate about fashion but just in a rad-cool way that makes me so happy. (more on this in the near future). The quote below stands out to me and I want to make sure that when my line comes out it is ethically made, it lasts, and it will somehow help the earth.

The best part about creating a collection from the ground up is that you can pick every single detail. Such as will my leggings be made out of recycled water bottles?

So How can we help mother earth? It's simple, you don't have to completely change your whole lifestyle but a little goes a long way, and anything that you do counts. Here is one of my favorite quote on this subject: " We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly, we need millions of people doing it imperfectly"

A letter to our baby girl

Utah, USA
Dear baby Olive,

You aren’t even here yet and already so loved... I can’t help but think of how lucky we are to be bringing such a precious little thing into this world.

We are getting closer and closer to the finish line and mama is finally starting to feel like herself again. Mama has been sick from the moment we found out you were inside me all the way in now as we are heading into the third trimester. It’s been worth it and it will continue to be worth it when we get to see your beautiful little face. Every moment, every kick, every sleepless night staring at the ceiling, every sickness and emergency room visit, every emotional outburst is so freaking worth it! We are lucky and you’re worth it baby girl!

Daddy is currently doing something that only a small % of Americans do... He is in the Air Force and he gets to protect us and fight for our freedom. He is the type of man that your mama dreamt of. Someone that would take charge and do anything and everything to give his little family a better life. Daddy is my hero and soon enough he will become yours too!

Do you suffer from Anxiety? Read This!

Utah, USA
The research you are about to read today was originally part of my Anxiety Presentation for College; With everything that has been going around and all the Covid-19 talk, I think this is great timing to share all the information I know about Anxiety.

Anxiety & Symptoms:

An anxiety disorder is characterized by a sudden feeling of panic, fear, restlessness, and uneasiness. The treatment includes medications, therapy,  you could use other natural approaches such as breathing exercises, food therapy, and flotation therapy.

  • Trigger: Usually the person is found in a situation that triggers it internally/externally
  • Thoughts: Fear, negativity, confusion, regrets.
  • Anxiety: whole body starts to get weak, your mind is somewhere else, and then panic comes into play.
