My best friend took me to Summit Pizza Co. For the first time a couple years ago and I've been dreaming about the cheese doodles ever since! Here is my review about my experience:
If you're a fan of delicious pizza and unique cheesy snacks, then Summit Pizza Co. is the place to be! I recently had the pleasure of visiting for the first time, and wow, it did not disappoint. From fresh, flavorful pizzas to the unforgettable cheese doodles, here's a breakdown of my experience at this hidden gem in town.
We decided to try two classic pizzas—the Margherita and Pepperoni—and opted for the personal-sized versions. Let me tell you, even though the personal size might sound small, it was more than enough, and we still had leftovers to enjoy later!

This girl had never tried vegan desserts before finding Sweet Hazel so I went in not knowing what to expect...
The bakery owner was so friendly and helped me chose. OMG! this will not be my last time at Sweet Hazel. Everything I have tried so far is delicious and if she didn't tell me they were vegan I would not believe her. I can't wait to come back and try the other sweets. The flavors are very robust in every bite. The peanut butter chocolate bar one was 10/10.

We always have a great experience and I have never had a bad pastry (trust me, we’ve tried lots of them). My avocado toast and chips are always delicious and the tiramisu is to die for. The cannoli, tarts, and coffee drinks are all delicious. Lastly, the Oatmeal is so delicitous and super filling!
The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself makes you feel like you're out of town. Its really cute and clean. Next time you’re in SLC stop by and try them out!

As we head towards the end of this pandemic (fingers crossed) I’m sure you have been making lists of date night ideas for when all the places in Salt Lake City open up for dine-in or for in-person experiences... Well, guess what? Same!
My husband and I never got to celebrate our anniversary last year because we were right in the thick of it all... So we just sorta skipped it and decided to go on a fancy date when things started to open up. Around April 10th the governor announced that restaurants and other businesses were able to open for dine-in and some might not even require masks.
The perfect SLC, Utah Date Night Idea:
In order to plan the perfect date night in Salt Lake City, you need to decide on a couple of things: main course, dessert, attractions, and attire. There are so many delicious restaurants downtown and it honestly depends on your price point for the whole night.
1. Pick your theme!
Do you want to dress up fancy? Do you want to dress down? More of a casual look? It’s up to you and your significant other! We opted for dressing up this evening because it had been a while since we got all dressed up for a fancy date.
2. Decide on your Restaurants
Once again, Salt Lake City is full of amazing restaurants! You can go with places like HSL, Sappa, or really go all out and choose Ruth’s Chris! So we went with the latter and oh my lord! One of our favorites and the service is always amazing!
3. Decide on dessert!
One of my husbands and I favorite things is to eat delicious desserts. We love finding hidden gems and local favorites such as Gourmandise. This evening we decided to go with the Hatch Chocolate family. Which is a cute little shop up in the avenues famous for the little chocolatiers. PS: try their famous hot chocolate! You’re welcome ;)
4. Explore the town!
Downtown is just beautiful! There are so many cultural things you can check out. If you are a religious person I highly recommend visiting the cathedrals. Just the stained glass art on the inside and the architecture craftsmanship. I’m always in awe when I enter this building. But I grew up catholic so I’m drawn to this type of architecture. My recommendation is to visit at least one old building downtown and learn a little bit more about its history.
5. Go down memory lane...
One of my husbands and I favorite things to do is really go down memory lane when we are out on our date. We talk about songs that remind us of certain times our lives together (we usually end up listening to said songs) we also talk about goals and ambitions as well as look back at how much we’ve grown as individuals and as couples.
One of my favorite things about living in Salt Lake City is all the restaurant options. You should all know by now how much of a Foodie I am (working on getting my YELP account to Elite status).
FOOD = LIFE. It's funny because I keep thinking I have eaten at most restaurants here in Salt Lake City, but then Daniel keeps introducing me to the best-hidden gems in town!
Last Sunday we were invited to attend a "Gospel Brunch with a whole lot of SOUL" at the Gateway Mall. After exchanging emails as well as finding out more about the event from their marketing manager we were in!
"There is great food supplied by Cubby’s, Bloody Marys made with Titos Vodka, coffee from 3 Cups as well as amazing live music by the Debra Bonner Unity Gospel Choir."
We both went in not knowing what to expect. Since there was food involved, and live music, what could we ask for?
When we first walked in we could tell right away how well organized this event was! The outdoor set up had this "intimate acoustic concert" feel. While the inside (where the food was) had this 5-star restaurant feel to it.
There were a lot of different choices for the food and we couldn't just pick one! I mean, just look at all the pictures below... We were full by the time we left the event!
Our spread varied from fresh fruit, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, coffee, and tea.
Mimosas + Delicious Crepes = YUMM!
Live music was provided by Debra Bonner Unity Gospel Choir, a group of 40 singers that will bring you to your feet - clapping, swaying, and stomping to the "joyful sound."
We aren't really Church going folks, as we do our own spiritual thing, but man oh man... That was awesome! I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear as the beautiful music hit our soul!
Brunch with the love of my life... Delicious Food & Great Music! What more could this girl ask for?

Unfortunately, this was the last brunch of the season! I sure hope that they bring it back next year! Another awesome thing that happened was running into my friend from High School. She and her husband were part of the choir. So fun!
After we enjoyed ourselves. We headed over to the theater at the Gateway and watched the new Spider-man movie. (Must watch BTW). The Gateway was looking awesome! We couldn't help but notice the improvements that have been made. I sure hope that they bring back the mall I used to know. There is so much potential here. I miss visiting it. Unfortunately, there aren't as many options as there used to be back in the day... Here is hoping that The Gateway continues to grow once again!
